Porcelain and wooden vase with pine needles

£175.00

Materials: Porcelain, charred wood, thread, pine needles, traditional Chinese porcelain glaze

Dimensions: H21.5cm 18×18cm

Exhibited at: DJCAD Degree Show 2024 (Dundee), Branching Out (Dundee Botanic Garden),

A half slip-cast and half lathe turned vase, decorated with a traditional Chinese porcelain glaze and moss and pine needles from the Cairngorms. The two parts are stitched together with a waxed cord.

Every wooden piece was charred, some completely and some partially as this piece here. The grain on this piece of wood was so lovely, I didn’t want to loose it to the fire.
