Porcelain vase with a cobblestone

£175.00

Materials: Porcelain, cobblestone, traditional Chinese porcelain glaze

Dimensions: H18cm 18×18cm

Exhibited at: DJCAD Degree Show 2024 (Dundee), Branching Out (Dundee Botanic Garden), SSA Annual Exhibition (RSA, Edinburgh)

A half slip-cast and half hand-built vase, decorated with a traditional Chinese porcelain glaze and a cobblestone from Aviemore. The two parts are stitched together with a waxed cord (even though it is not on the photos).

This is the last piece of the collection with the last material I collected - a piece of a cobblestone from the Aviemore train station. I picked up the cobblestone as a joke, it seemed fitting as the last material on the journey. But, it actually melted beautifully.
